Gain access to the world’s best lab equipment at ASM’s State-of-the-Art Training Center!

A primary goal since the dedication of ASM International World Headquarters has been to foster education, advance knowledge, and communicate new engineering information on metals and related materials. ASM International recognizes the value of hands-on training to reinforce theory and hone skills by offering a variety of laboratory courses at our headquarters. Collaborations with leading industry manufacturers help develop a renowned Training Center used to teach practiced techniques that emphasize fundamentals as well as operation of recent state-of-art equipment.

Metallographic preparation and microstructure interpretation education courses utilize the Metallographic, Microscopy, and Sectioning labs. Other education courses take place in our Heat Treat and Mechanical Testing labs. Our recent partnership with Parker Hannifin expanded ASM’s facilities to characterize metal parts produced by Additive Manufacturing. Dedication of our Computed Tomography and Powder Characterization labs, as well as a suite of elemental analysis instruments have been made possible by Parker Hannifin.

Renovations of our laboratories and classroom facilities were possible thanks to generous donations from our corporate and industy partners. These collaborations have allowed ASM to grow as an organization and continually improve and expand our on-site capabilities. It is this continued support that improves ASM’s ability to provide professional development continuing education courses and improved performance that advances the materials science industry.
