This Certificate of Achievement in Metallography provides a structured curriculum which recognizes training in three categories. Complete the required training comprised of requirements and electives and gain recognition in Metallurgy Fundamentals and Specimen Preparation, Microstructure Interpretation and Analytical Techniques. A certificate will be awarded for completion of requirements in each category as well as upon completion of the entire program. Gain recognition for your training and skills and advance your career.

Metallography (Metallurgy Fundamentals and Specimen Preparation)

  • Metallographic Techniques

Select one of the following:

  • Elements of Metallurgy OR Metallurgy for the Non-Metallurgist®

Select one of the following:

  • Introduction to Metallurgical Lab Practices
  • Introduction to Metallography
  • Basics of Heat Treating AND Heat Treating Furnaces and Equipment
  • Practical Heat Treating
  • Metallography for Failure Analysis

Intermediate Metallography (Microstructural Interpretation)

  • Practical Interpretation of Microstructures

Select two of the following:

  • Steel Metallography
  • HT Microstructures and Performance of Carbon and Alloy Steels
  • Aluminum and Its Alloys
  • Titanium and Its Alloys
  • Nickel and Its Alloys
  • Superalloys
  • Stainless Steels

Advanced Metallography (Analytical Techniques)

  • Advanced Metallographic Techniques

Select two of the following:

  • Mechanical Testing of Metals
  • Principles of Failure Analysis
