DomesDay 2025: They Came, They Saw, We Crushed!

Congratulations to the winners and well done to all the participants!

  • Runner-Up: HammerDome (McMaster University)

  • Judges’ Choice: HammerDome (McMaster University)

  • Materials Innovativeness: Dome of Arc (Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University)

  • Best Themed Design: Clutch’s Crown (Lehigh University)

  • Best-In-Destruction: The Pitchforks (Arizona State University)

The competition was hosted in person at IMAT, the International Materials Applications & Technologies conference and exhibition, in Detroit, MI. Established in 2014 by the ASM Student Board Members, DomesDay is intended to familiarize Material Advantage students with a piece of ASM culture, the Geodesic Dome, by involving them in a design and materials selection competition.

Details on DomesDay 2026 will be shared this coming spring!
