The Founders’ Grant is a $50,000 research grant given every two years to seed novel research that shows promise to expand the understanding and reach of shape memory alloys.
Esteemed Members and Associates of SMST and ASM
On behalf of the SMST Affiliate Society of ASM International, I would like to express our gratitude for the exceptional donation made by Dr. Tom Duerig to endow the SMST Research Grant. His generosity has ensured that SMST can continue to recognize new, promising research in shape memory alloys on a biennial basis in conjunction with our conference. At each conference, we will recognize the new grant recipient and hear from the previous recipient on their research. Dr. Duerig and two other SMST executive committee members will join the Executive Director of the ASM Materials Education Foundation in the selection process. Please join us in thanking Dr. Duerig for his outstanding commitment to the field.
