Nominations are Open for HTS Board Positions – Including Emerging Professional and Student Board Members.

The ASM HTS Awards and Nominations Committee is seeking nominations for three (3) Directors for a three-year term, as well as candidates to fill two (2) Emerging Professional Board Members for a one-year term. Applications are due March 1.
Director candidates must be a HTS member in good standing; Student Board Member candidates must be a Material Advantage student member (undergraduate during the 2026-2027 academic year); and Emerging Professional Board Member candidates must be within ten years of graduation and be a member of ASM or ASM-HTS. Both the Student and Emerging Professional candidates should have an interest in the field of heat treating. The HTS Awards & Nominations Committee may consider any HTS member, even those who have served on the HTS Board previously.
Nominations are to be made on the formal nomination form and can be submitted by a chapter, council, committee, or HTS member.

HTS Student Board Members
To be eligible, you must be a Material Advantage undergraduate or graduate student during the academic year of service, studying or researching in an area closely related to the field of heat treating, metallurgy/materials science.
To apply, submit an application package comprising:
- Your current resume/CV.
- A two-page essay (typed and double-spaced, in English) addressing your interest in participating in the program. Please make sure to address the following points:
- What experiences have led to your interest in this program?
- What qualities, characteristics and skills do you possess that will make you a strong candidate to serve as Student Representative to the HTS Board?
- What do you hope to learn/gain from this program?
3. Two or three letters of recommendation from faculty.
Two Students are selected each year. Applications are due April 1.
Applications will be reviewed by the HTS Nominating Committee, which will forward recommendations to the HTS Board for approval.
