EDFAS Board Nominations

EDFAS is soliciting nominations for candidates for one vice president and one secretary for a two-year term and three members at large for a three-year term for the EDFAS Board of Directors. You must be a member of ASM and EDFAS in order to be considered for a candidacy.  Nominations are for the board positions Terms begin October 1, 2026.  Positions are open for nominations with any member of EDFAS in good standing is encouraged to nominate themselves or another member for one of these positions.  The Incumbents may also seek re-appointment by notifying the Awards and Nominations Committee Chair, Felix Beaudoin  [email protected]

Candidates who initiate or accept nomination will be asked to provide a one-page nomination package to include the candidates:

  • academic/business biography
  • failure analysis background
  • EDFAS and ISTFA involvement
  • vision for the future of EDFAS
  • photograph and contact information

Service on the EDFAS Board of Directors involves planning and driving the future strategy of your society. The Board of Directors meets three times a year via teleconference and one face-to-face meeting at ISTFA. Board members also provide liaison support to the several EDFAS Committees which may involve a few additional conference calls.

Candidates are encouraged to ensure that they have the support of their employer for this activity.

EDFAS Student Board Members

To be eligible, you must be an undergraduate or graduate student member during the academic year, with an interest in the field of failure analysis for the electronics/semiconductor industry.

To apply, submit an application package consisting of:

  1. A current resume
  2. A two-page essay (typed and double-spaced) addressing your interest in participating in the program. Please address the following points:
  • What experiences led to your interest in this program?
  • What qualities, characteristics, and skills do you possess that will make you a strong candidate to serve as a student representative to the EDFAS Board?
  • What do you hope to learn/gain from this program?

3. Two letters of recommendation from faculty.

Applications will be reviewed by the EDFAS Nominating Committee, which will forward recommendations to the EDFAS Board for approval.
