CASMART 7th Student Design Challenge
SMST 2026 will host the 7th CASMART Student Design Challenge for undergraduate and/or graduate students. Students will have the opportunity to showcase their creativity by applying engineering theories and methods, using engineering design principles, and leveraging CASMART members’ experience to address SMA design challenges in aeronautics, astronautics, and medical industry.
SMST Best Poster Awards Competition
SMST 2026 is planning a special Best Poster Awards Competition. To participate in the Best Poster Award Competition, you must be stationed at your poster during the Poster Session on Tuesday, May 5th at 5:00 p.m. in the Exhibition. Judges will evaluate your poster during this time. Presenting poster authors who have submitted Extended Abstracts will automatically move on to the Poster Session – Lighting Talks. Additional Poster Presenters will be judged during the poster session for the opportunity to be selected to participate in the Lighting Talks. Selected competitors will have the opportunity to highlight their posters with a five-minute oral presentation during the Poster Session – Lighting Talks on Wednesday, May 6th at 1:15 p.m.
A panel of judges representing a variety of fields from both academia and industry will evaluate all presenters during the Poster Session – Lighting Talks and select the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners.
- 1st Place will receive a plaque and free registration to a future SMST event (including the Education Course!)
- 2nd Place will receive a plaque and free registration to a future SMST Education Course.
- 3rd Place will receive a certificate
