Metallurgy of Welding and Joining, May 18-20, 2026, Virtual Only
Event Date:
May 18, 2026
Event Time:
8:30 am
Event Location:
Welding metallurgy is a complex subject because it requires knowledge of materials, welding processes, design, and inspection. The Metallurgy of Welding and Joining course provides an excellent review of welding processes, welding of materials ranging from carbon steel to specialized alloys, guidelines for designing weldments to facilitate welding, and testing and inspecting welds to meet performance requirements.
This course is a requirement for the Welding Metallurgy Certificate Program.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND:
- Welders
- Welding inspectors
- Engineers
- Managers
- Technicians
- Sales or purchasing personnel
LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
Upon completion of this course, you should be able to:
- Intelligently select the appropriate welding process for a particular application
- Describe the basic metallurgy of the melted and heat-affected zone of a metal or alloy
- Identify the cause of and avoid weld defects
- Choose or adjust welding parameters and techniques to optimize weldment properties
- Understand the inspection process techniques
- Identify design basics to avoid poor weld applications
