July 27, 2026

Event Time:

8:30 am

Event Location:

(#1 Best Seller) Metals and alloys are used in the greatest variety of applications of all engineering materials and drive your products’ success. That is why it is crucial for those involved in manufacturing and engineering to have knowledge about what metals are, how they behave, and why they behave differently than ceramics, glass, and plastics. This course provides essential knowledge about metallurgy—specifically designed for those who are not metallurgists.

Your instructor will give you a comprehensive overview of technology, science, and key concepts for the entire course. The sessions and discussions are very interactive and create an environment where questions are always welcome.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND THIS CLASS?

  • Component designers
  • Operators
  • Technicians
  • Manufacturers
  • Engineers
  • Management
  • Anyone with an interest in metallurgy

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

Upon the completion of this course, you should be able to:

  • Describe how metals behave and why, including why and how they can be formed
  • Recognize how metals can be strengthened by alloying, cold-working, and heat treatment
  • Identify how metals can be shaped by casting, forging, forming, machining, or welding, and how these processes can alter properties
  • Recognize why metals and alloys are not behaving as expected and how they can be made to behave as needed
  • Identify what metal or alloy to use for specific combinations of properties
