Superalloys, April 20-22, 2026, Virtual Option

Event Date:

April 20, 2026

Event Time:

8:30 am

Event Location:

Knowledge of superalloys is key to designing critical components used in the most demanding applications. This course provides an in-depth look at nickel-, cobalt-, and iron-based superalloys — materials known for their superior mechanical strength, corrosion resistance, and surface stability at high temperatures. Topics include alloy properties and metallurgy, microstructure, melting, casting, forging, heat treatment, oxidation and hot corrosion behavior, and protective coatings. The course concludes with a look at emerging technologies in the field.

The book, Superalloys: A Technical Guide, by Matthew J. Donachie and Stephen J. Donachie, is provided with the course.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND

  • Engineers
  • Managers
  • Technical professionals who work with or make decisions involving high-performance materials

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

Upon the completion of this course, you should be able to:

  • Compare the properties of nickel, cobalt, and iron-based superalloys
  • Analyze the corrosion behavior of superalloys
  • Explain the process of coating for surface protection
  • Apply knowledge of superalloy properties and behavior to material selection and design decisions
