Chapter Officer Training Series
NOTE: A one-day, in-person Leadership Day event will not be held in 2026; rather, we will be organizing virtual sessions over the 2026-2027 Chapter Year. See below for details.
About & Benefits
ASM organizes the Chapter Officer Training Series with a simple yet powerful goal – to help local officers be equipped with the knowledge to lead and strengthen their local Chapters. We do this by hosting sessions throughout the Programming Year (September – May) to foster learning, information sharing, idea incubation, and networking.
Past attendees have repeatedly reported that they gained new contacts that help them both as ASM volunteers and as professionals, developed a better understanding of ASM, and came away with ideas, best practices, and/or tips to help their Chapter.
We invite you to participate and learn with us!
Logistics
All sessions are hosted virtually – either live or on-demand – to maximize availability and accessibility. They are crafted with intention, leaning into methods to help accomplish the goals of the specific session while minimizing the drawbacks that virtual facilitation may impose. There is no cost for an ASM Chapter officer to attend.
When a session becomes available, a notice will be placed on this page (see Scheduled Sessions below), in the Chapter eNewsletter, on the Chapter Leadership Connect Community event’s calendar, and highlighted in a special email sent to the local officers on file. Registration details and additional information – scheduled time, anticipated length, and hosting platform – will be shared in these communications.
If you’d like to ensure you are on our mailing list, please subscribe via the button below.
Who Should Attend?
We invite and welcome all Chapter officers to attend the Training Series; however, certain Chapters are required to attend to maintain Active and Good Standing status.
To maintain Chapter in Good Standing status (and qualify for membership rebates), Chapters must have a minimum of one officer at least every other year attend the entirety of the Training Series. Below are the Chapters who are required to participate over the Fall 2026 – Spring 2027 Programming Year.
