Committees and Councils

Whether you’re a seasoned professional or just beginning your career in the materials sciences, ASM members are encouraged to become more deeply involved in the society through committee membership. ASM committees and councils identify emerging trends in member needs and transform them into actionable development opportunities. These groups drive innovation by providing thought leadership, establishing industry best practices, and developing educational and technical resources that serve both ASM members and the wider materials science community. Their insights and recommendations empower the ASM Board of Trustees to create impactful policies, allocate strategic budgets, and guide society operations effectively.

People across the materials engineering and science profession will tell you their occupation is far more than a job.  It’s a “love what I do” passion, a lifelong endeavor that transcends “work for pay” to a pursuit that rewards on a much deeper level.
