TSS Board Nominations

The ASM TSS Nominating Committee is currently seeking nominations to fill one vice president and one secretary for a two-year term and three board member positions for a three-year term. Terms begin October 1. Candidates for these director positions can be from any segment of the thermal spray community. Nominees must be a member of the ASM Thermal Spray Society and must be endorsed by five TSS members. Board members whose terms are expiring may be eligible for nomination and possible re-election on an equal basis with any other nominee by notifying the Awards & Nominations Committee Chair, Rogerio Lima [email protected]. Nominations must be received no later than March 1.

TSS Student Board Members

  • To be eligible, you must be a registered undergraduate or graduate student during the academic year of service, studying or researching in an area closely related to the field of thermal spray technology.
  • To apply, submit an application package comprising:
    1. Your current resume/CV.
    2. A two-page essay (typed and double-spaced, in English) addressing your interest in participating in the program. Please make sure to address the following points:
      • What experiences have led to your interest in this program?
      • What qualities, characteristics and skills do you possess that will make you a strong candidate to serve as Student Representative to the TSS Board?
      • What do you hope to learn/gain from this program?
    3. Two or three letters of recommendation from faculty.
  • Applications will be reviewed by the TSS Nominating Committee, which will forward recommendations to the TSS Executive Committee for approval.

Nominations deadline is April 1.

The two selected participants will be notified by June 1 and will each begin their non-renewable and non-voting, one-year term as Student Representatives to the TSS Board of Directors, at the Fall TSS Board meeting.
