Emerging Professional Event at Heat Treat México 2026
This event will offer the young professionals a competition to encourage participation at Heat Treat Mexico and to provide opportunities for networking.

Deadline: March 6, 2026 – EXTENDED March 20, 2026

Eligibility:
Full-time undergraduate and graduate students who are registered for Heat Treat Mexico and have completed a project or paper may submit this application to be considered for the contest. Young Professionals (within a year from graduation) that conducted a research project while they were enrolled at a university. The topic of the project is unlimited but should be technical in nature and related to heat treating.  All participants will be required to present onsite in Monterrey and register to attend Heat Treat Mexico.

Format:
Phase 1 (Poster Presentation): students will prepare a poster highlighting their work and present in a special poster session during Heat Treat Mexico. The submitted posters will be evaluated by a team from both academia and industry. The student posters with the highest cumulative scores from the judges will be named semi-finalists; and the student authors will be invited to present their work orally in a special session.

Phase 2 (Oral Presentations):  Semi-finalists selected from the poster session will then give an oral presentation. Presentations will be no more than 10 minutes in length with 3 minutes for questions from the judges. Each oral presentation will be evaluated and scored for overall knowledge of project topic, experimental and research results, and presentation skills.

The winner of the competition will be announced at the end of the oral presentation session (Phase 2).

1st Place: $750 USD
2nd Place: $500 USD
3rd Place: $250 USD

Evento para Profesionales Emergentes en Heat Treat México 2026
Este evento ofrecerá a los jóvenes profesionales una competencia para fomentar su participación en Heat Treat México y brindar oportunidades de networking.

Fecha límite: 6 de marzo de 2026 – EXTENDIDO hasta el 20 de marzo de 2026

Elegibilidad:
Estudiantes universitarios y de posgrado a tiempo completo que estén registrados en Heat Treat México y hayan completado un proyecto o trabajo pueden enviar esta solicitud para ser considerados en la competencia. Jóvenes Profesionales (dentro de un año posterior a su graduación) que hayan realizado un proyecto de investigación mientras estaban inscritos en una universidad también son elegibles. El tema del proyecto es libre, pero debe ser de carácter técnico y relacionado con el tratamiento térmico. Todos los participantes deberán presentar su trabajo en persona en Monterrey y registrarse para asistir a Heat Treat México.

Formato:
Fase 1 (Presentación de Póster): los estudiantes prepararán un póster destacando su trabajo y lo presentarán en una sesión especial de pósters durante Heat Treat México. Los pósters enviados serán evaluados por un equipo compuesto por representantes de la academia y la industria. Los pósters estudiantiles con las puntuaciones acumuladas más altas serán nombrados semifinalistas, y los autores invitados a presentar su trabajo de manera oral en una sesión especial.

Fase 2 (Presentaciones Orales): los semifinalistas seleccionados de la sesión de pósters darán una presentación oral. Cada presentación no tendrá más de 10 minutos, con 3 minutos adicionales para preguntas de los jueces. Cada presentación oral será evaluada y calificada en base al conocimiento general del tema del proyecto, resultados experimentales y de investigación, y habilidades de presentación.

El ganador de la competencia se anunciará al final de la sesión de presentaciones orales (Fase 2).
