Intertek, UK, a leading Total Quality Assurance (TQA) provider to industries worldwide, announced the opening of a new Intertek Caleb Brett laboratory in Naples, Italy, strengthening its presence in this important region.

The new facility addresses a growing demand for reliable, high-quality testing services in crude oil, refined fuels, and emerging biofuels. Strategically located between Northern Italy and the main islands, the Naples laboratory offers fast turnaround times, reduced logistics costs, and strong local support. Its proximity to major ports and efficient courier links across the country enables rapid sample delivery – within minutes for local clients and within 12 to 24 hours nationwide.

The new state-of-the art laboratory spans 400m2 and enables Intertek’s TQA experts to perform a full range of tests for crude oil, petroleum distillates, biofuels, and vegetable oils. Capabilities include full-grid testing for gasoil, ISO 8217 specifications for bunker fuels, EN 14214 for biofuels, gasoline analyses, key parameters for vegetable oils, and bacteria testing on hydrocarbons.

Among the advanced equipment available at the site is Intertek’s Interpret Near Infrared (NIR) system, enabling rapid crude oil scanning and characterization through one of the industry’s most extensive databases, providing customers with the fast and accurate insights they need to optimize their operations.

Stefano Braghiroli, General Manager, Intertek Caleb Brett Italy and Malta, said: “For our Italian customers, this new facility is a game changer.
