Call for Tutorials

SUBMIT A TUTORIAL

Tutorial authors can expect acceptance notifications in mid-2026 (exact dates coming soon).

Unlike technical papers, tutorial presenters are not required to submit a full manuscript for the ISTFA Conference Proceedings. However, all tutorial presentations will be published in the Tutorial Presentation Conference Proceedings.

Tutorial Author Information

Abstract Requirements

Once submission opens, tutorial abstracts will be required to meet the following criteria:

  • Length: 2–4 pages

  • Font: Times New Roman, size 12

  • Abstracts must clearly define:

    • The importance of the subject, problem, or solution

    • The full range of topics to be covered

  • Must include:

    • At least 2 figures

    • At least 4 references

Full upload instructions and templates will be provided prior to the submission deadline.

Abstract Submission Deadline: Friday, April 3, 2026
Accept/Reject Notification to Authors: Friday, May 1, 2026
Presentation – First Draft from Authors: Friday, May 29, 2026
Presentation – Reviewer Feedback to Authors, if needed: Friday, June 12, 2026
Presentation – Final Approval by Reviewers/Mentors: Monday, August 10, 2026
AV Chair Review Period August 10 – August 30, 2026

Tutorial Content Guidelines

All tutorial submissions for ISTFA 2026 should follow these guiding principles:

  • Core content must be well-established, publicly accessible, and relevant to conference attendees

  • New developments and recent advancements may be included

  • The presentation should be:

    • Clear and easy to understand

    • Appropriately scoped for a tutorial format

  • The length of the presentation should be suitable for a full tutorial session (maximum one hour)

Presentation Summary

Submitted abstracts are not published online. The summary information provided during submission will be displayed online in the months leading up to the conference so attendees can preview upcoming tutorial sessions.

Detailed PowerPoint formatting rules and AV guidelines will be provided closer to the event. Presenters using embedded videos or animations should pay close attention to those requirements once released.

Presentation Details
  •  Each tutorial presenter will have 60 minutes total, including a 5-minute Q&A session
  • Tutorial rooms will be equipped with:

    • Computer with USB capability

    • Podium microphone

    • Lavaliere microphone

    • Projection screen and data projector

Slide Design Recommendations:

  • Maintain 0.75” (19mm) margins

  • Minimum 24-point font

  • Use dark text on a light background for best visibility

All tutorial presentations will be submitted in advance and pre-loaded onsite prior to the conference.
